Transparency as an Act of Worship

Trust is the currency of zakat. The funds change hands precisely because the giver believes they will reach those entitled to them.

In an era where every other transaction is logged, traceable, and reviewable, zakat administration should be no less rigorous. Transparency is not a marketing feature — it is faithfulness to the amanah.

Three practices that build trust

1. Itemized cycle reports. Show what came in, what went out, and what remains.
2. Asnaf-level breakdowns. Donors should see how their contribution flowed across the eight categories.
3. Independent review. Make it possible — and easy — for an external auditor or committee to verify the books.
